Where Yoga is very beneficial in terms of total body health, Flexibility, increased blood flow, mental clarity, and excellent breathing practices, I will not give you near the result in terms of weight loss, so I would have to say that Aerobics would be your best bet if you can not do both, good luck with whatever you choose.

my plan 20 minutes on a bike 3 times a wk
15 mintutes jumprope 5 times a wk
and yoga 6 times a wk.
and i have p.e which is 40 mintues of weight traning and elliptical machines 1-2 times a week
+ like tag jogging push ups and crunches.
i will eat
Breakfast 100 calorie yogurt and 1/2 and appple
lunch a bag of chips
dinner a soup or salad or grilled chicken with veggies.
snack 1 a fruit and veggie
snack 2 crackers and peanut butter
1 coke a day
8 cups of water a day!
PLEASE HELP!
do you have a story of losing 25-50 pounds?

Im 17 years old and i was wondering if this is a good weight loss plan to lose about 20 pounds in 3 months?

as well as an hour walk in the morning and pilates at night;

monday- afternoon surf
tuesday- tai chi class
wednesday- afternoon surf
thuresday -dance class
friday- afternoon surf
saturday- swim at the local pool
sunday- yoga class

Due to all the exercise you are getting in, 1200 cals is at the lower end of how much you should be eating; try to have 1200 on the days you surf and between 1200 – 1500 on the other days. Also try and drink between 2-3 litres daily.
Do this and you will have an amazing plan to lose weight, especially since your body won’t get bored with all the different exercises.

I have been on Weight Watchers for 2 years and I lost 55 pounds. I still have 40 – 50 to lose. I have never been a very active person and never exercised. Three weeks ago, I started exercising regularly (yoga, strength training, and aerobics). Since I started exercising, I haven’t lost any weight, in fact, a slight gain. I expected to see a noticeable weight loss with exercise. I do have more energy and I notice my clothes fitting a little looser, but the scale shows me different. Why?

Continue eating less obviously. You need to maintain your muscle by getting stronger because muscle burns more calories, fat doesn’t. You need to burn more calories, do cardio at least three times a week. Eating healthy is a key and eating the same thing everyday helps get you into a routine. And the most important part is to keep yourself motivated. Set goals and track your progress.
Your body may have plateaued, if so change the exercises your doing. Drink a lot of water also to help with weight loss.
You should start losing weight don’t lose focus and keep motivated…it may take some time.

I weigh 151 pounds.
How long will it take me to be down to 115 if:

~i excersise for 20 minutes two times a day on a stationary bike
~ do two hours of yoga 1 day a week
~ do pilate excersises 3 times a week

At 15-16, when I was almost 200 lbs, I lost about 36 lbs in about 4 months. But your goal is less weight, so, I think you’re going to have to work *really* hard to get those last 10 lbs.

your exercise routine you’d like to start sounds great! And weight watchers is a good choice.

If you can also add fat burning exercises too, such as walking and swimming (that’s my personal favourite), that would be good too.

Can you walk to school instead of getting a lift? Every bit helps. Just remember, whatever you do, to enjoy it. Don’t start off with a bang, and then give up one week later.

Try adding things gradually, and if one thing isn’t as much fun, try something else, until you’re *passionate* about it.

It is possible to lose that weight within a couple of months if you’re consistent.

swithcing off days with running 2-4 miles one day then biikng 4-6 miles the next. pretty fast pace for both but nothing too fast. then dance class on tuesdays and wednesday and tennis on mondays and yoga on thursday (just 20 mins of yoga). also im eating 1000 calories a day give or take. how much will i lose?

Too much too fast, I can tell you that. You’ll lose about 5 lbs in the first two weeks. Then you’ll plateau, i.e., you won’t lose any more weight because your body will have gone into starvation mode (you should eat at least 1200 a day), get discouraged, and gain it all back again and then some.

Slow and steady wins the race with weight loss. Relax a little bit, and you will have more success.

breakfast – sultana bran and yoghurt
lunch – healthy banana smoothie
Snacks- fruit
Tea- meat vegetables and salad.

(Weekends i will have salad sandwich for lunch)
During the day i will also be doing yoga and aerobics,
swimming somedays and beep test once a week.
I need to get rid of lower back and love handles before
April!! (It is now December)

Ok heres the thing. i would give you a quick question but you need the whole story. im 16, 6’1 and 175 pounds last time i checked (2 days ago). all my life ive been kinda overweight. i moved four years ago to a new town and along with it cam new friends. the thing is all my friends are super ripped. im talking super abs and good looks. so ive always been the “fat” one. i know im not “fat” in the traditional sence but i do feel fat all the time. ive been playing football for a few years and ive recently started ballet and yoga. the thing is i dont really like my life too much. i dont get the girls i want and im kinda a joke if you know what i mean. im not depressed or anything i just dont like whats going on in my life. it could be better. so recently ive started eating well and taking theses abbs+ pills. ive lost 25 pounds in 2ish months. but recently i havent been able to work out soo much. so i need some tips to loose weight and feel beter about myself allround. i want ripped abbs

Question by Princess (and i’m proud): Does this sound good for weight loss, female teen?
For breakfast I had a serving size of whole grain cereal with skim milk. For a snack I had a cup of fresh blueberries. After that I had a slice of whole wheat bread toasted with light margarine. I went on 1.5 hr hike then had a protein shake with skim milk and a banana. For Dinner I’m having a chicken burrito on a whole grain tortilla with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, chicken, black beans and a little cheese. Does that sound good if I’m trying to lose weight? Thanks(: oh and I’m doing yoga for an hour tonight.
