Question by cz73: Does this sound like a good weight loss plan?
I want to lose 15-20 lbs in a little under 3 months.
I have not been exercising and I’ve been pretty careless about my eating for the last 4 or so months.

So now- I am going to do aerobics/pilates/yoga for about 30-40 minutes 4 times a week – they have all different ones on-demand and I’m going to switch em up.
I am going to eat a big salad every dinner with a tiny portion of what my boyfriend is eating.
I am going to stop eating carbs after lunchtime.
Any other suggestions? I don’t want anything that is too hard and I am going to give up on.

Thanks!

I have gained about 15 pounds in the course of 6 months. Its not a huge deal and Im not fat by any means. Im just looking to lose maybe like 10 pounds. Its mostly in my waist and Ive gone from a size 1 to about a 5. Im just looking to get back into the 3/4 range. I also do work out, I do yoga twice a week and aerobics twice a week. I dont want to take something that is known for mood swings or nausea or extreme tiredness. If anyone had used a good one and was impressed or know someone that has used a good one please let me know. Also, I’d like to not spend more then 35$ a bottle. Thanks!

Hi! I’m 19, 164 lbs, and 5’5.
I’m looking to kick myself into shape in what little free time I have at college. I need some quick low-impact exercises (I just finished my recovery period from back/shoulder/leg injuries I sustained in a car accident).
I do not have any workout equipment besides what I can make out of everyday household products and a yoga mat.
My target areas are tummy, butt, and inner thighs.
Any suggestions on workout plans?
No need for diet suggestions though, I already carefully monitor my diet .
Ok, I lost 3stone in 6 months last year & I want to do the same this year.

My plan this year is 1,500 calories per day (maximum):

Breakfast – special K with skimmed milk or porridge with water, cup of coffee with skimmed milk
Snack – carrot sticks
Lunch – vegetable soup/chicken & vegetable soup with a small roll
Snack – small banana
Dinner – whatever I fancy but some sort of meat/fish/Quorn with veg & rice/potatoes/pasta
Snack – Mullerice

Drinks – 2litres of water per day, unlimited peppermint/ginger tea

Exercise – Mon/Tues/Thurs – 20 min walk, 20 min yoga, 20 min bike, and Weds/Fri/Sun – 20 min walk, 30 min wiifit, 20 min X-trainer.

My goal is to lose 3 stone and be able to wear a bikini by May/June. Do you think this is achievable? Is it an ok way to do it?

I’m currently 209lbs and 5ft10.

I only regained 4lbs over 2 months after I had some health issues that stopped me exercising & I lost track of food :]
Alright, so, by september, i want to have a flat stomach.

right now, im about..29-30′ waist. D:

So, if i get up at 5:00 AM everyday, do 30 mins of cardio, then 15 minutes of yoga, then 15 minutes of core training, eat under 1000 calories a day, and run for 1/2 hour at night…will my stomach be flat by september?

also, i would be drinking about 3 litres of water/dy, an 3 cups of green tea, as well as taking acai berry juice.

for example, what i ate today was

2 apples
2 yogurts(low fat)
a protein shake
grilled cheese

Is that not enough?

and about 5’8, around 130 lbs.
if that helps/changes anything.
ALSOOO. im planning on going raw food vegetarian. C: (im already vegetarian)

I am going to start a diet on Monday that I hope to stick to for 5 months. I want to lose 40 pounds by september. I plan on eating 1500 calories/day and jogging 1 hour 3 days/week, and yoga or pilates for 30 mins on the days I don’t jog. Do you think this is a good plan? Any suggestions?
BTW I’m 5’7″
I dont think the exercise is too much to start with because I’m pretty fit and exercise alot but I just can’t control my eating habits. But I’m afraid the calories are too limited and I wont be able to maintain the weight loss

Answer by Carlo d’Umbria
With as much exercise as you say you’re getting, one answer can be that you eat too much. That is, that you consume more calories in a day than you burn off. You cannot fool Mother Nature, who laid down the laws of weight loss:
• More calories burned than eaten = weight loss
• More calories eaten than burned = weight gain

OVER TIME, YOU MUST BURN MORE CALORIES THAN YOU EAT or it is simply not possible to lose weight. This is an inescapable Law of Nature.

AFTERTHOUGHT: You are truly getting a lot of good exercise, and depending upon your physical condition when you started working out you may be bulking up muscle. Are you? If so, keep in mind that a cubic inch of muscle weighs more than a cubic inch of fat. So you may be getting in much better shape swapping muscle for fat, and that may be why you think your weight is stalled out.

Question by emma: is this normal (weight loss)?
okay, so everyday for about a week and a half i’ve done at least 30-45 minutes of cardio, about 30 min of pilates, and a little bit of yoga everyday. i also have been watching what i eat. yesterday, i weighed myself and i weighed that same that i did before. today, i weighed 2.5 pounds less. is it normal to lose 2.5 pounds in one day?
yeah, i don’t normally weigh myself everyday. i weighed myself a week and a half ago, then yesterday, and tonight. i just wanted to make sure it was okay to lose that much weight after having a steady weight for a week and a half! thanks for the answers everyone!

Answer by Mikamu-Chan
a human can go up and down of about 2.5 pounds a day, it’s quite normal…
The reason is simple.

Water and such, digested food.
2.5pounds for the ones who do not know is about 1.1kg which is very VERY normal to drop in a day. Normally you’ll get back up to that value after drinking water / eating properly.

although if it continues for a very long time (that you’re only dropping) you should seek healthcare.

Especially if your BMI drops below 19.

BMI is calculated (weight/(length (in meters)^2))
ideal is between 19-25 which I bet you knew already =P
